Learn About What Causes A Yeast Infection

If you are one of the many people who suffer from yeast infection then you are probably wondering what causes this unfortunate and uncomfortable condition. That way you will be better equipped for treating it and preventing a future outbreak. The main culprit for this condition is a fungus known as 'Candida Albicans'.
This is a micro-organism which is actually a yeast. It has the capability of developing into an overgrowth in the right conditions. It thrives in warm moist environments and also needs specific nutrient in order to survive. Yeast occurs naturally in our human bodies and normally causes no problems. However, when it gets out of control it is then that your problems will start to surface.

So here is the main reason for yeast infections. Our human bodies are naturally able to keep yeast under control when normal conditions exist. This is due to our immune systems working well to fight off bacteria and also the 'good' bacteria that fends off the 'bad'. Using antibiotics is one things that can cause an imbalance in this system. They not only kill bad bacteria, but good bacteria too.
Whenever the good bacteria disappear along with the less resistant bacteria, the most resistant bacteria have free reign. They are able to thrive and multiply into an overgrowth status. Antibiotics should never be used unless absolutely necessary. They should never be taken casually or carelessly.
Using vaginal douches can also play a part in causing yeast infections. Just the same as antibiotics, when used often, the frequent washing disturbs the natural balance of the good bacteria and the bad bacteria overpower you. They also lead to moist and warm environments that the bad bacteria love.
Consuming too much sugar is also believed to cause yeast infections. A lot of micro-organisms are crazy about sugar because it contains some of the necessary nutrients for them to multiply much faster and to survive within a human body. Yeast resembles these kinds of micro-organisms and develops a lot faster in a sugar-rich environment.

What are yeast infection symptoms for men?
These are irritation on the head of the penis, a red color and an itch in the same area;sometimes also a burning sensation when urinating. The symptoms are not too different to those of herpes, so let your doctor see you for a check-up.
How to treat a yeast infection in men
Most doctors will prescribe a drug like diflucan or an over-the-counter remedy like Monistat treatment. This will get rid of the problem-but not permanently. Therefore you will fork out more money the next time the infection returns. Information on a suitable yeast-free diet and eating the right foods can be found in the link below;but-in general-if you stop taking sugar and alcohol, or greatly reduce these, you will hasten your recovery; also, eating natural yogurt will help prevent the infection re-occurring. A white vinegar douche (which is a few drops of vinegar added) in a sitz bath, and soaking in it for ten minutes, can be effective too.
