What Causes a Yeast Infection?

     The prevalence of yeast infections is quite high among women. The biggest mistake that women make when they get an infection, especially if they are recurrent infections, is to start on a treatment before determining the cause of their problem. A lot of people mistake it for being a type of sexually transmitted disease, but this is not the case. Although, the symptoms can be very similar, which makes the common assumption. If you are willing to consider what is really the cause of yeast infection is, then you can better understand how they should be treated.

May be infectious vaginitis can spread to your partner if you are sexually active or may have atrophic vaginitis, which can be done only in postmenopausal women. Yeast infections are caused by Candida yeast, which are always present in even the healthiest of people. Occasionally the yeast will begin to grow out of control if conditions in the body are favorable to them. For example, the immune system usually keeps microorganisms under control, but in people with compromised immune systems yeast can begin to multiply more rapidly than the body can fight it. The most common cause of a yeast infection in men is a compromised immune system. An immune system can be weakened by a variety of factors, including but not limited to:
Infection with the HIV virus
Undergoing treatment for cancer
Nutritional deficiency
Significant stress
Other undiagnosed health issues
